Brigid Lohoff

Brigid Silva-Lohoff and her husband, Ryan Lohoff (Professional Master Tap Teacher), are the owners and Artistic Directors of their own studio, Simi Dance Center(SDC) located in Simi Valley, CA. More »
As professional dancers and choreographers, the Lohoffs enjoy sharing their knowledge and passion for dance with their students at SDC and dance students across the nation. In addition to her ownership duties, Brigid also oversees the design, fit, and production of over 100 custom costume designs annually. At SDC, Brigid and Ryan enjoy helping mold young dancers into successful, talented, motivated and responsible young adults.

Brigid Silva-Lohoff is originally from a small town in central California. Growing up Brigid was trained in all styles of dance. In addition to her dancing career, Brigid acquired a degree in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Design And Merchandising. To bring her two worlds together, she has studied and worked the past 15 years as a dancer, choreographer, designer, stylist and seamstress for dancers. She worked as a professional stylist and designer for several well-known choreographers and has helped dress several celebrities.

As a dancer, Brigid also trained on scholarship at both EDGE Performing Arts Center in Hollywood, CA and the Performing Arts Center in Van Nuys, CA. While represented by Go To Talent Agency, she gained employment in numerous productions. Brigid's work as a choreographer/guest teacher also takes her throughout the US. She travels to adjudicate dance competitions for VIP Dance Competition, Move Productions and Hollywood Vibe. Brigid is also sought after for teaching intensives, Master classes, and setting award winning choreography throughout the US.

While she's not hard at work, she enjoys spending time with her 1 year old son Ruxin.

Ryan Lohoff

Ryan has been teaching and choreographing since the age of 14 and now travels the US and abroad spreading his knowledge and love for dance.

He has choreographed and performed pieces for Gregg Russell's tap company "Tap Sounds Underground," the Miss Kansas Pageant, the Tampa Bay Tap Festival, the 2010 Jerry Lewis Telethon opening number with Tyce Diorio, and has choreographed award-winning routines at studios across the US and abroad.

Recently, Ryan was a featured tapper for an upcoming episode of FOX's "Mobbed" with Howie Mandell.  You may have also recently seen Ryan dancing with partner Gregg Russell as one of the top 18 dance acts (Tap Sounds Underground) on Paula Abdul's television show "Live to Dance".  Ryan's been featured on CBS's "Star Search" with Arsenio Hall and Usher, on FOX's "30 Seconds to Fame," and a commercial for Carvel Ice Cream. He has worked with Broadway Choreographer Keith Young on the skeleton crew of the Sammy Davis Jr. musical "Sammy" and has recorded his tap sounds for the Disney film "The Princess and the Frog" as well as the demo tape for the remake of the movie "Fame." He has appeared in numerous shows including industrials for both Adidas and Nike, performed at Broadway Dance Center in New York, the Buddy Epson Tribute in Los Angeles and was the Nutcracker Prince in the San Francisco Ballet's Nutcracker.

Ryan's true passion is in teaching and choreographing.  He has taught on numerous conventions and tap festivals and has traveled internationally to inspire tappers worldwide.  Starting July 2012, Ryan and his wife Brigid bought and took ownership of Simi Dance Center in Simi Valley, CA.  He is currently the founder of Neo Rythmo, Inc., a tap manufacturing company that has produced the FIRST and ONLY professional black colored taps on the market, aka ProTones (www.Pro-Tones.com).  In January of 2012, Neo Rythmo released the NEWEST tap accessory to hit the stage, melodies:  Multi-colored taps for performance and competition.  Although known for his tap, Ryan excels in all forms of dance.  Using his versatility, he infuses and creates a unique and up to date style that is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Erin Cabrera

Erin Cabrera started dancing at Simi Dance Center at the age of 8 and began performing on their elite competitive team at the age of 9. She has had many years of training in Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Ballet, and Point. More »
Erin has taught for Simi Dance Center's recreational team for 8 years and competitive team for 4 years. She was very excited to come back to teach Miss Jessica's students this year. Erin is truly proud at how well Miss Jessica's dancers adjusted to the change of teacher's this season and loves being able to teach such talented children. She enjoys teaching and inspiring every individual dancer and is thankful to all dancers and parents for their hard work and dedication. Erin graduated from California Lutheran University with a Bachelor of Arts in Art and Religion.

Stacy Procida

Stacy, born and raised in Los Angeles, has been dancing since the age of three. She began her professional career training under the direction of Marguerite Derricks as a "Generation Next" Company member. More »
On Marguerite's company she was able to train with top choreographers such as Liz Imperio, Billy Goodson, Doug Caldwell, and Michael Rooney. She has assisted Michael Rooney, assisted on Jackie Slight's competition/convention "LA Dance Magic" as well as taught and judged for "Dance Masters of America" "Dupree", and "VIP Dance". Stacy has also been a company member of Gregg Russell's Tapsounds Underground.

Stacy has choreographed many musicals for Hamilton High School of the Performing Arts and Laurence School that include "A funny thing happened on the way to the Forum", "Little Mermaid", "Beauty and the Beast" and "Gypsy". Stacy's live show credits include "Promotion for Candies Perfume", "Relay for Life Cancer Benefit", and "Dancer's Unite 3/4". She can most recently be see in a webisode aired in the presentation of Cisco video telephones directed by Jennifer Hamilton, and just got off tour with Crisitan Castro in "Viva El Principe". Stacy has an Associates Degree in Psychology/Child Development, a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology from Cal State Northridge. She currently travels as a master teacher, choreographs award winning competition numbers all over the USA, and shares her passion for dance that comes out in her teaching as she guides and inspires dancers all over the country. She is beyond excited to be a part of inspiring the dancers at SDC this year!

Shelby Rabara

Shelby was born and raised in Orange County, California and received her dance training from Keith Clifton, the EDGE Performing Arts Center and UCLA. More »
While in college, Shelby enjoyed being a Los Angeles Laker Girl for three seasons. Some of her work includes commercials and print jobs for Old Navy, Fresca, McDonald's, AT&T, Sony, Toyota, Nike, and Adidas. Shelby plays "the Dark Nurse" aka "Bella" in the award winning web-series, the LXD: Legion of Extraordinary Dancers, created by Jon M. Chu. The LXD has performed at the Academy Awards, TED conference and SYTYCD. Most recently the LXD was the opening act for the international Glee Live Tour.

Shelby has also been associate choreographer on Dancing with the Stars: Macy's Stars of Dance. She has appeared as a guest star and co- star on shows like "Glee", "Grounded for Life", "Community", and "My Name is Earl". In addition, you can see her dancing in films such as "Step Up 3D", "Fame", "Hannah Montana", "Dance Flick", and "17 Again", and "The Muppets".

Jensen Freedman

Jensen was born and raised in California & became a part of the SDC Elite Competition Team from '05-'12. She had the Honors of Co. Dance Regional Convention in '07-'08 and Miss Senior Superstar at Star Systems tour from '11-'12. More »
Jensen is trained in Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical/Contemporary, Hip Hop and Tap. She has a love for all styles of dance but especially Tap. She continues training as she starts a Professional Dancer career and attends many intensives such as Tap Into The Network for the past 5 seasons where she has been one of their Scholarship recipients twice in '10 and '12. Jensen is excited to become official faculty and grow with the studio and hopes to spread the love of dance to her students.

Ali Rosenstein

Originally hailing from New Jersey, Ali was raised for the latter part of her life in Oldsmar, FL. She began dance training at the age of 9, and is well versed in various idioms including jazz, tap, hiphop, ballet, musical theater and contemporary.  More »
Her training has led her to work with many inspiring choreographers and teachers, and she has had the opportunity to train at some remarkable venues including the NYSO Tap Kids Summer Intensive, the prestigious Broadway Theater Project and as a summer intern at Broadway Dance Center, where she studied intensively with members of the esteemed faculty.

Ali has established herself as an inspiring master teacher and upcoming choreographer throughout the country, having taught and choreographed works for various studios in New York, New Jersey, Florida and even Oklahoma City University. She  received her B.S. in American Dance Pedagogy from Oklahoma City University, where she performed as a member of the American Spirit Dance Co., as well as in various stage productions throughout her time there.

She recently became a member of Gregg Russell's Tapsounds Underground, and her professional credits include both theatrical and commercial venues, including "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition", a promotional video for the film "Step Up 3D", the modern company "Body Threads" in NYC, "Good Day Tampa Bay", several showcases and variety stage shows including "Home for the Holidays" and the "Bound For Broadway Singers Showcase" in NYC, as a featured tap dancer on the new FOX TV show, "Mobbed", and most recently as a "Sophisticated Lady" at the legendary Cotton Club in NYC with Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards, which gave her the opportunity to perform with other tap greats Jason Samuel Smith and Chloe Arnold at the 23rd Annual Tap Extravaganza.

Ali has recently moved to LA from NYC to pursue a career in dancing, singing and acting,  and continues to explore her passion for performing and the joy of dance education, striving to bring a unique and fun philosophy into her classroom.

Lindsey Glick

Lindsey Glick is a graduate of the world renowned Edge Performing Arts Center scholarship program. She currently performs and teaches across the U.S. choreographing for various dance companies. More »
She has appeared on stage with Bill Medley of the Righteous Brothers and performed with Ballet Met Columbus. Lindsey has done print ads for Volkswagen and industrials for Paul Mitchell. She has also worked with "Dancing with the Stars" judge Carrie Ann Inaba. As a choreographer she has worked with comedic hip hop rap group "Hot N The Biscuit"; which includes Jenni Pulos from Bravo TV's "Flippin Out" and Gary Anthony Williams from ABC's "Boston Legal". She has choreographed for burlesque troop "Cherry Burlesque" and stage productions of "Oklahoma" and "Rocky Horror Show".

Lindsey also belongs to a tap crew called "K360" who currently perform throughout Los Angeles. Most recently she choreographed two music videos for Disney starring Baby Charlie from "Good Luck Charlie". She was also featured in the 2010 September issue of Dance Spirit Magazine. We are privileged and excited to have Lindsey as part of our staff at SDC this year.

Rachel Scott

Rachel Scott began her dance training as a student at Southland Ballet Academy in Orange County. There she was trained by Salwa Rizkalla in the Vagonova method, learning the art of classical Russian ballet.  More »
As a young dancer, Rachel performed in full length ballets such as Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, and the Nutracker as a soloist with guest principal dancers from around the world. At eighteen, she danced the role of Carabosse, the wicked fairy, opposite American Ballet Theater's principal dancer Julie Kent. As a young adult, Rachel received a dance scholarship to train at DeFore Dance Center in Costa Mesa, Orange County's premier dance studio for professionals. Upon completion of the scholarship program, Rachel was asked to join the faculty at DeFores as a ballet instructor. She taught both adults and children there, and for some time, was the youngest faculty member at only nineteen years old.

During her time at De Fores, Rachel developed a love for many styles of dance. She was one of the original company members of Mike Esperanza's BARE Dance Company, and had the opportunity to perform alongside many of Southern California's finest modern and contemporary dancers. She has also performed with dance companies Festival Ballet Theater and Jazz Spectrum.

Rachel has been teaching ballet and pointe for over ten years now, and her passion for teaching grows with each passing season. She considers herself extremely fortunate to share her love and deep appreciation for classical dance with students, and is very much looking forward to teaching the students at Simi Dance Center.

Holly Groom

Holly grew up in Visalia CA and danced competitively with the award winning studio Dancers Edge for 12 years. She also served as team captain and student director for her high school dance program. More »
Trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical, and contemporary, she is most known for her leg lines, turns, and bringing an emotional edginess to the stage. During her competitive years, Holly earned titles of Miss Showbiz, National senior soloist at KAR in Las Vegas, and twice national senior soloist at Showstoppers in Anaheim. Holly was named a VIP for the Jump Convention and received honors and awards for Coastal Dance Rage, Nuvo, the Collective, and the top award for the So You Think You Can Dance Experience.

After graduating high school, Holly completed the Edge Performing Arts Immersion program and then signed with Clear Talent Group to begin her professional career. Holly has worked with Donna Shepherd-Wood, Keri Le Grand, Brigid Lohoff, Shannon Mather, Lindsay Nelko, Stacy Tookey, Mandy Moore, and has assisted for Brandi Styles, Rebekah Meinert, and Mark Meismer. She has performed at the World Dance Championships in Austin, Texas, the Capezio 125th Anniversary Gala in New York, and at Nygel Lithgos Dizzy Feet Foundation Gala in Los Angeles. Holly is currently a member of Talia Favia's company, "The Difference Between" and served as Female Supporting Lead alongside Talia and Chaz Buzan, in the company's Hollywood debut. As well as attending community college, Holly currently teaches and choreographs at Simi Dance Center, where she travels with their competitive team. Holly one-day dreams of becoming a successful dance teacher and choreographer on the west coast.

Dani Vitale

Originally from Cleveland Ohio, Dani Vitale showed raw potential and prodigious talent early on. She grew up at Spotlight Dance Center dancing competitively and extensive ballet at Cleveland City of Dance. More »
She quickly began teaching and choreographing for her studios and the Cleveland Cavalier dance team. She founded the official dance team at Notre Dame Cathedral Latin High School. Later she trained and studied intensely in New York and Los Angeles. She continued honing her technical dance skills which allotted her memorable roles in La Bayadere with The Kirov Ballet and The Nutcracker with Cincinnati & Pennsylvania Ballet.

In 2008, she ventured out to the west coast to be apart of EDGE Performing Arts Center scholarship program. Upon graduation she joined BLOC and has been working ever since alongside Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, Jason Aldean, Beyonce, Rihanna, The Jonas Brothers, Snoop Dogg, Carly Rae Jepsen and more. Touring and working on film such as GLEE, Shake It Up and 90210, she balances blogging full-time while writing mainly about lifestyle topics and being a strong woman. Well rounded in multiple styles of dance, she teaches across the world and judges competitions on her down time.

Ashley Moore

Dancing since the age of 8, Ashley took a year off at the age of 10 and during that year was in search for the studio that best suited her. She finally found herself at Simi Dance Center, where she felt right at home, at the age of 11. More »
Ashley was put on the competition team from the moment she started at Simi Dance Center and grew tremendously during her years of training. She is well trained in styles such as: Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, tap and hip hop.

Throughout her years of dance she received scholarships for Tremaine Dance Convention and CoDance as well as overall awards at competitions as a soloist and a team dancer. Dancing has been a passion of Ashley's for a very long time and now is very honored to have the opportunity to spread her passion and knowledge for dance to her students.

Katie Watts

Katie is a graduate of Point Park University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance. She is the Artistic Director of one of the top competitive dance studios in the Nation. More »
Most recently her students were seen on the hit television show "America's Got Talent". In 2009 Katie was featured on Foxs "So You Think You Can Dance", along with one of her students. Some of her other successes have included Star Search, Disney Cruise Lines and several choreography pieces for the Pittsburgh Playhouse.

Katie travels throughout the country doing many master classes and has taught at many prestigious and well renowned facilities. She continues her dance education year round by serving as an adjudicator at several dance competitions and by attending various conventions throughout the country.

Leo M.

Leo's extensive training began at the age of 8 on a full scholarship with the San Francisco Ballet (under the direction of Helgi Tomasson) and continued for 10 years. More »
Leo studied ballet, jazz, modern, blues, Afro Haitian, and choreography under the direction of Elvia Marta at the School of the Arts San Francisco. His training was also with the Dance Company of SF, under the direction of Chris Jacobsen, where he studied contemporary, ballet, lyrical, hip hop, and jazz and studied backup dancing at Push Entertainment under the direction of Denise Lee.

Leo has danced in the San Francisco Ballet's Nutcracker from 1994-2002, in 1994 also dancing in Russlan with the San Francisco Opera. In transition of becoming a commercial dancer he has choreographed/assisted/danced for artists such as Carlos Santana, Jackie Chan, Paula Abdul and 50 Cent to name a few. As a company dancer, he has performed for choreographers such as Dee Caspary, Justin Giles & Chris Jacobsen. Currently pursuing a career as choreographer/instructor, he has toured as a convention teacher for LA Dance Magic and iHollywood dance. Leo is now guest teaching for Hollywood Vibe as well as many other dance events for Universities and numerous dance events across the country. He has recently just returned from working with dancers in Tokyo Japan and was certified in Yoga. Leo will be joining SDC to train our competitive dancers in both Yoga as well as Contemporary movement. We are so excited to welcome him to our SDC family!

Kylie Williams

Kylie Williams has been dancing at SDC for 15 years and has been a part of the Elite Competition Team since she was five.  She has been educated in numerous genres of dance including: Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Tap, Pointe, and Ballet. More »
She was also on the Moorpark High School Dance Team 2010-2011. Not only has she participated in dance, she was also a cheerleader for 6 years in a community program and at her high school. This year at age 18, she has been awarded Tremaine Studio Dancer of the Year for 2011-2012.

Kylie loves teaching and assisting. She has a passion for motivating young dancers to become the best dancers they can be while enjoying it at the same time.  Dance has been a huge part of Kylie's life. She finds herself the happiest when she's dancing both at the studio and on stage in front of an audience. Kylie is extremely honored to be a part of the Simi Dance Center faculty.
